my new fave theme lately ✈️🌴I’ve been using this travel/vacation theme to target the core word GO in speech, and my students have been SO engaged with it lately.What I love about this theme is that it can be stretched for so many different communication levels. Some of my students are working on using “go” as a single core word on AAC, while others are building longer phrases, answering WH questions, and even telling simple stories about trips and vacations.In my sessions we:
✈️ sent little people on trips in planes and cars
🧳 packed suitcases for different destinations
🏖️ talked about places we go
❓used yes/no visuals and expanded with WH questions
🗣️ practiced phrases like:
• go camping
• go on a trip
• go far away
• go with my family

Okayyyy this Vacation GO bundle is quickly becoming one of my favorites 🌎✈️We have been using the yes/no visuals from my visuals pack to talk about whether students have been to different places. Then, if they are ready for it, I make it a little harder with follow-up WH questions like:
• Who did you go with?
• What did you do there?
• Where did you stay?
• When did you go?My kids were SO into packing the suitcase for different destinations too 😂 I think next time I’m going to bring in a real suitcase (or maybe even a doll suitcase) to make it even more fun and hands-on.This unit has been such an easy way to target the core word GO while building vocabulary, answering questions, expanding utterances, and working on functional communication.Comment GO for the links ✈️

One of my FAVORITE ways to teach the core word WANT during summer speech therapy? Ice cream play 🍦There is just something about pretend sprinkles, scoops, and sundaes that gets kids communicating naturally.This theme is perfect for:
• AAC users
• Early communicators
• Preschool speech therapy
• Mixed groups
• Expanding 2-3 word phrases
• WH questions
• Play-based therapySome of my favorite models:
