SLP Organization MUST HAVES

So you want to organize your speech room, or your classroom, or your office… but you aren’t quite sure where to start? Keep reading for my top 5 SLP Organization MUST HAVES. {affiliate links at the bottom}

Or, if you’re more of video based learner, here’s the same list in a video form, with a little bit more pizzaz 🙂

A Planner

Number one is a good planner. It doesn’t even really matter what planner it is. Last year I used a ten dollar planner from Target. I’ve bought expensive Erin Condren planners in the past. And I’ve printed and bound my own from TPT. They all work, just pick one, plan ahead in it, and stick to it.

This year I am going to be using my SLP Digital Planner. I am SUPER excited to go TOTALLY digital with my planning and data.

Drawer Carts

I LOVE these drawer carts. I get them from Michael’s and also from HomeGoods/TJ Maxx and I have them in all sorts of colors and sizes. My tall cart (like the one pictured above) is used to house all of my year round language materials, sorted by goal area. I made a whole video about it, you can check it out HERE.

Photo Boxes

I use these for EVERYTHING. I use them to store articulation cards, WH question cards, categories cards, mini erasers, food incentives, PECs, you name it. They are the PERFECT size container for everything. Personally, I don’t keep them in the big “suitcase” because I find them harder to grab that way. But they are definitely cheaper in the big pack and you can use the suitcase to store something else.

TIP: Although it is tempting, don’t buy these on Amazon as they tend to be much more expensive. Michaels or Hobby Lobby is the way to go. Also, sometimes Walmart has them. Make sure to use your teacher discount!

Mesh Pouches

If I don’t have something stored in a photo box, you better believe it is in a mesh pouch. They come in all sizes, but the standard size is perfect for storing laminated sheets of paper or interactive books. I keep whole preschool language units together in these and put labels on them with packing tape. They are so much sturdier than other solutions I have tried, they are easier to close, plus color coded… heart eyes. Plus if you’re looking for labels for these, I have a free set in my FREEBIE LIBRARY

Sheet Protectors

These are another dirt cheap organization solution and I use them to keep papers together. I can make a bunch of copies of something and keep them all organized in sheet protectors. Easy peasy. Plus… if you spill something they’ll keep your papers protected. Not that I’ve had experience with that or anything….
