Technically this isn’t speech related, but I searched high and low for Leprechaun Basket ideas for St. Paddy’s day and just kept coming up short.
I’m verrrrry Irish, so we definitely DO St. Patricks day in my house. I grew up wearing a lot of green, going to the annual Corned Beef and Cabbage at my church (St. Patrick’s) and generally reveling in Irish-ness.
Now that I have my own family, I wanted to start a new tradition, Leprechaun baskets! Basically, I filled a basket with green foods, and a few things my son and husband already needed (but in green). I’ll link everything I included below:
I got the baskets from Target – linked here. They are very neutral and I plan to use them for Valentine baskets, Easter baskets, and Christmas season baskets as well just by switching up the tags. I got the tags here.
For the snacks, I literally just walked up and down all of the aisles of the Target grocery section looking for green (as well as the baby food area). I will link what I found below, but just know what’s what I did
jack’s basket
Dinosaur rain boots (with a hint of green)
New BIG pack of utensils (we seem to always be losing these)
Dinosaur Bubble Blower (old from Target, similar here)
jacks snacks
Happy Super Food Kale and Spinach Puffs
ben’s basket
Lululemon shorts dupes from Target in green – here, and here (the man LOVES lulu shorts, but our budget does not, hoping these do the trick
ben’s snacks
Target Favorite Day Spring Clover Trail Mix
Nerds Easter Rope (it’s green)
Hopefully this post helps someone who wants to create a little St. Paddy’s day leprechaun basket tradition of their own!
for myself
I didn’t make a basket for myself (although I did get myself a tag). I used my portion of the Leprechaun basket budget to get a “four leaf clover” colored dip manicure, to buy myself some cute Ray Dunn St. Paddy’s day mugs, and to get a few more pieces for our St. Patrick’s day decor collection.
seasonal books & toys
I also got Jack two new St.Patrick’s day books, but I put them on his bookshelf on March 1st so we could enjoy them all month.
Thing One, Thing Two, and the Leprechaun
We also set out his St. Patrick’s Day Play Dough Kit from Young Wild and Friedman in his play dough caddy
other traditions
The other plans I have to make this day special include –
Matching Vineyard Vines Shirts (My husband is in charge of this for each holiday. They can be pricy, but they are SO comfy, and you can easily find them on Poshmark or after the holiday on sale
Corned beef and cabbage with mini potatoes and carrots and Irish Soda Bread for dinner
Green pancakes or waffles for breakfast
