So I don’t know about you, but I LOVE reading through people’s gift guides but I sometimes get annoyed at the superfluous things on them, like, did you actually buy that or did it just look cute on your graphic? Well, I wanted to share my gift guides – with a twist – these are the things that I actually got for my husband and my son and my extended family (and what I hope to get for myself). These things are actually sitting in a pile waiting to be wrapped, so no extra fluffy things here!
What I got my my 2 year old son
My son turned 2 in August, he is obsessed with Paw Patrol, Building with blocks and magnatiles, books, and art/coloring. Here is everything we got him this year!
Paw Patrol Stuff –
we have WAY too. many vehicles, so these are fun and paw patrol themed, but not just something to add to the vehicle clutter
Melissa & Doug Paw Patrol Water Wow Books (3 Pack) – He loves the water wows he has. You “paint” with just water and the colors show up, once they dry you can use them again.
Melissa & Doug Reposition able Stickers (3 pack) – key word being “reposition able”, they are also a little puffy so he can get them off himself
Melissa & Doug Wooden Dress Up Dolls – he has never had anything like this, but I think he is going to love it!
Magnatiles Stuff –
He got a basic set of magnatiles for I think his first birthday from his aunt, but recently has been playing with them DAILY and building more and more elaborate structures so we thought it was time to upgrade his collection!
Car Bases – You can add tiles on to these to make different vehicles, he’s gonna love it!
Construction Set – for the construction lover, add on some diggers and backhoes and such
Roads (and more) – If he is going to make vehicles, they’re gonna need roads!
Books!
Paperpie (Usborne) truly are his favorite books every single time I get them for him, they are so interactive and engaging
Nibbles Shapes, Nibbles Numbers, Nibbles Colors, and the Nibbles Plush – He LOVES Nibbles, I can’t even explain it. He just loves him.
Good as New & Kisses, Cuddles , Good Night – he has “All Better” with the moveable bandages and LOVES it, these are the same premise
Peek Inside How a Crane Works – He loves cranes and lift the flap books, this is sure to be a hit!
Other stuff
Balance Bike – I wanted to get him a balance bike that we could add wheels on to when he was ready, but I wasn’t ready to pay 200+ bucks for the kind I see all over Instagram that he will outgrow in a year. This one has great reviews!
Melissa & Doug Stamp Set – He LOVES stamps, and this seemed like a fun and random assortment to keep him busy
In his stocking –
He is a coloring and drawing lover, so we thought we would add some fun craft supplies to his stocking
Crayola Safety Scissors – comes with 3 different designs and super safe
Crayola My First Water Colors – only 4 colors with biiiiiiiig wells of paint
Crayola Watercolor Pad – somewhere to keep his masterpieces
Crayola Ultra Clean Washable Markers– emphasis on ultra clean
Crayola Ultra Clean Washable Crayons – we are constantly replacing these
What I Got my Husband
My husband and I are shopping on a somewhat limited budget this year since we got our basement finished recently. So here is what I am getting for the man who has most things
Affordable Slippers – he is rough on slippers, and these are sturdy and affordable
A beard hair catcher – this is really for me, I can’t. stand finding beard clippings in the towels or on the counter
Lululemon dupe joggers – this is my personal fave lulu dupe brand, and my husband is a lulu snob, so i am hoping he loves these!
An electric toothbrush – he would never buy this for himself but he needs it
Duke Cannon Lip Balm and Hand Cream – His fave brands, and our skin gets DRY here during midwest winter
A Rhoback Hat – He LOVES this brand, but a 100 dollar quarter zip isn’t in the budget this year, so he is getting this fun hat I am sure he will love
Bamboo Pajamas – My entire family ONLY sleeps in bamboo pajamas now, we are giant snobs, but they are THAT comfy.
What I want for myself
Like I said, name of the game is budget so these are all affordable amazon finds
Lululemon dupe SUPER high waisted leggings – my fave brand, and the super high waisted is amazing
Lululemon dupe quarter zip – looks extra cozy and cute, lots of colors
Barefoot Dreams Dupe Blanket – ask anyone who knows me, I am a blanket addict
Fuzzy slippers – these are all the rage right now, I am interested to try an affordable pair!
Packing Cubes – I really like this brand, and am in need of some new packing cubes
Hanging toiletry bags – matches the cubes and you know I love a matching moment
CeraVe Face Oil – My skin is DRY and I have heard great things about this oil
Desk Organizer – My desk in my home office is a MESS, this will help right?
What about everyone else?
I told you I wasn’t going to put anything on my. gift guides that I did not actually purchase, so in case you’re wondering what everyone else on my list is getting – parents, in laws, brothers, etc. – EVERYONE is getting a book and a mug and my 2 year old is decorating a bookmark. We decided to keep it siiiiiimple this year since we don’t have the mental energy for much else and tbh it has been super fun to pick out books and mugs that fit people’s personalities.
